A V-brake is a system that uses two brake arms to stop a bike. The arms are connected by a cable. When the bike brakes, the arms move towards each other, gripping the cable housing. To release a V-brake, simply squeeze the brake levers together, then twist them out of the way.
A disc brake works in a similar way by using pistons to squeeze the brakes against the wheel rim. To Release Disc Brake Using a multi-tool or a bicycle tire removal tool, remove the pin that connects the pads together to release it. Just push the pads out after you’ve pulled the pinout.
Step 2: Remove the wheel:
To remove the wheel, use your Allen key to unscrew it. Use a hex wrench to turn the bolts slowly while holding onto the wheel with one hand.
Once all of the bolts are loose, lift up on the wheel and let it come off of the bike. Make sure you hold onto any cables or wires that may be connected to it!
- Loosen the axle nut with a wrench
- Remove the axle nut by turning it anticlockwise
- Slide the wheel off the axle
Step 3: Remove The Tube:
With the wheel removed, now is a good time to remove the tube. To do this use Tire levers (or a pair of pliers). Grip the tube between the levers and unscrew it from the tire. Take care not to pinch your fingers in the process!
Step 4: Inspect The Tube:
Now that you’ve replaced your tube, be sure to inspect it for damage before continuing. If there is any, take the time to fix it before continuing.
If the tube looks good, you can continue with step 5. if not…
Step 5: Inserting A New Bicycle Tube:
If the tube does not look good, you will need to replace it. To replace the tube, rotate the tire so that the valve is facing outward. Position the new tube over the top of the tire and screw it into place with a new axle nut and wrench.
Step 6: Putting Your Tire Back:
Once the tube is placed in, replace the tire by placing it on the wheel and screwing it back onto the axle. Take care not to pinch your fingers in the process!
Step 7: Reinstall the wheel:
Replace the wheel by placing it on the hub, rotating it to align the spokes with the wheel hole, and screwing it back onto the axle. Be sure that you tighten all of the bolts/screws before replacing your bike’s cover.
After reinstalling the wheel now it’s time to pump Once you have the pump and inflate your tire to the correct psi. Make sure to lube your chain and cassette.
